It’s My Birthday!

this is Mille and I. Hello.

On this day 30, yes 30 years ago my mother called my aunt to let her know that she had a brand new niece for a birthday present. I really can’t believe that I’m 30, it seems like I’ve only just left my teenage years behind. Poor Millie had to suffer through being petted this morning when she was not in the mood at all but has forgiven me and is now perched on my lap as I write this. And you will never guess but my dad actually messaged me happy birthday this morning, haha second times the charm. lol. I spoiled myself with some Turkish delight from a kabab shop and also had a delish mango.

Its a bit early that I’m writing this but I’m going out for dinner tonight with family and I don’t want to stay up afterwards to get this done. if only I could manage this every day. oh well

Disaster struck yesterday and I was one sequin short of finishing my red dress. Well the flower that is meant to be on it at any rate, the dress its self if done and looks fabulous. I currently have just one more Toho kit on hand to make, but hopefully I’ll managed to get my hands on more at some stage as they are just fantastic. I quite like the red dress and the next one I have to make is a white, wedding style dress.

This morning I cleaned up my desk top and while it’s not perfectly organised it’s not the disaster that it was this morning. Its nice to have a tidy desk where you can actually find things and bonus I found about 10 miniature mannequins which I thought I’d run out of. What a great find, it means I can keep making miniature dress creations! as I have to make them around the mannequins.

And I also finished the experiment that distracted me from finishing the red dress the other day. Not sure if I like it but it will be a good base to work from, and I made a belt to go with it, which I am happy with. And unusually for me I used a mix of Miyuki and Toho beads.

here are all the Toho kit dress I have made so far lined up in the display cabinet. It is honestly getting a bit full, I will soon have to start taking out anything that is not beadwork.

Though it is nice to have a visual on how much beadwork I have done even though this is not all of it. My own dress designs are fairly basic so far, as I’m still learning how to make them my own way.

Happy Birthday to me, have a great day from Lou and Millie.

Hey there, most people call me Lou and I am a passionate dreamer and creator of funky beaded creations. I dream of having my creations featured in galleries and am working to make that dream a reality. When I am not working or creating I am spending time with family and friends, reading or watching movies.
