Slow and steady

Unfortunately the thing about bead work is that it takes time, a lot of time. But I guess if it were easy there would be many people doing it. Anyway this small augmented Icosidodecahedron will be the last finished shape for the collection for a little while as I need to get a move on with orders and putting up my 2d patterns for sale. I also want to make something for the square project and the wings and stings comp if I have time. And there are so many other things I want to do. If anyone in Mackay, QLD wants to learn how to bead and is making Jewellery and art please message me.

I also have a started Rhombicosidodecahedron (i have done a stellar version) which when I do get around to completing it will work out. it’s sometimes hard to tell if shapes will work out in beadwork or not right up until they are finished or they simply don’t work. When it’s done I will have 9 semiregular polyhedron on my math pro poster left to make. Not that they are the only Polyhedrons I’m trying to recreate in beadwork for my collection. Hopefully by the time I’m done it will be one of the largest collections of polyhedrons. that would be super cool. hum I wonder if there is a record for that lol.

To make things a bit quicker tomorrow I’ve been making parts ready to assemble kind of like a production line, you do one thing and then the next so that you are not stopping and starting so much. I don’t always do this but I really should do it all the time to save time. It is super efficient although a bit more boring as you are doing the exact same thing over and over again with out change. There is a saying that repeating the same action over and over again is madness but really its genius.

And I’m still working on stars as usual, I will hopefully end up with the largest collection of stars as well given how many I make. What do you think? A room full of unique stars is it possible? Also I love my silver star earrings and am making a black pair you can find a tutorial for the open stars on Seed Bead Bliss’s youtube channel.

Ok this busy bee has to keep moving but I’ll post again in a day or two. Catch ya. Lou
