Distracted to experiment

Palm house of The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, England

Ok so I have a confession. I did not actually make any progress on the red dress today as I may have gotten distracted by an experiment as the post’s title hints. the fab news is that it is coming together swimmingly. Not sure I like it exactly but it is a dress with frills and a belt, which I have to finish along with the length and hem. Its also good because I now have a simple beaded dress I can use as a base for more complicated dresses. And I’m not too far off finishing the red dress. there are no decent WIP photos so you will just have to wait.

On the movie front I’ve knocked off four more movies from the list and have interrupted my Neil Gaiman binge sesh with a vampire binge sesh. Because why not. And admitted a few days ago this may have started with a Twilight move binge sesh because well the mood struck and once you start watching one you just have to watch them all even if they are rather silly.

The photo is of one of my fave places though I’ve only gotten to visit once so far in 2017. It’s of the palm house of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, England as the caption says and it was an amazing time. I loved the palm house and well all of the gardens that I had time to see. England is such a funky place with so many amazing things to find if your up for an adventure, I’d really love to go back some day and spend more time there.

On the writing front (and don’t expect to hear to much as I like to keep my writing to myself) I’m meant to be re-writing Hansel and Gretel as a superhero story and so far managing to re-write it as a much more truthful fairytale. As is the stepmother is not wicked and so far a wicked witch hasn’t appeared (though it had been the plan) and it’s closer to the truth of what the fairytale was actually based on. When I was researching about Hansel and Gretel I found out that the fairytale was based on a brutal famine that happened centuries ago where the people go so desperate that they turned to cannibalism to survive and of course some people ate their children. Gee what a fun story. But not to worry Hansel and Gretel are not going to suffer from cannibal parents in my rewrite. What will end up happening though is still a mystery, as the plan went out the window.

An-who I lost track of time and its late, so catch ya later alligator.
